I am a Christian and a Conservative. I grew up in Cedar Springs, MI and have lived in Muskegon County for 20 years. I serve in many roles; a wife, mother, grandmother, freedom activist and owner of a successful trucking company that my husband and I have operated successfully for the last 21 years.
Serving as a Cub-Scout and Webelo leader for five years taught me a great deal about serving community and doing for others. I am now the proud mother of an Eagle Scout.
I stumbled into politics in 2020 and quickly moved up the local political ranks leading to executive committee positions in the Republican Party. Along with being a County Commissioner, I serve as Secretary and the Chair of Communications on the Muskegon County GOP Executive Committee and as Secretary for the 3rd Congressional district.
GOALS
My goals are to see Muskegon County move forward as a place people want to live and work. With Muskegon County on the rise to meet economic & housing demands, we are moving towards an innovative future where our kids & grandkids will be able to succeed and thrive without having to go elsewhere. Affordable housing is a #1 priority to me and is of great concern. I support new economic development opportunities that bring in higher paying jobs and high tech jobs with collaborative training opportunities in Muskegon to appeal to our youth. Along with affordable housing, we can begin to sustain our residents who otherwise leave Muskegon for work and/or housing. Tourism is part of our culture and revenue. With the creation of a Parks Commission in 2023, which I supported, we are now able to acquire much needed funding from sources outside the county and can begin to upgrade our parks. The uprise of our downtown area has already started the movement, and Muskegon is on it's way to becoming a top destination!
Serving my county and community as a Muskegon County Commissioner for the last year and a half has been a great honor, and I look forward to serving you for another 4 years!
I Support the Following:
-Bachelor of Science (Cellular & Molecular emphasis).
-Minor in History
-Class of 1989
I hold a biblical world view whereby God created all things and the Bible is truth. Our rights are inherently given to us by God, not government. Government has grown into an oversized machine that abuses their power and takes from “We the People” more than it gives. Our Founding Fathers intended for small government and to only allow minimal, specific duties where as “We the People” rule over our families, communities and states under the direction of the morals and values mandated to us by God. We have been at a crossroads with our government for some time and given the straight path or the crooked one, I intend to follow the straight path as I represent the people of Muskegon County.
I am a descendant of many who fought bravely in forming this nation and those who went on to continue defending and protecting those freedoms that were penned into the foundation of our Constitution. I believe our government has abused and de-valued the powers of the Constitution, adding meaning for their benefits at the expense of the American citizen. I am a defender of our God given, Constitutional rights.
As County Commissioner, I serve the people of Muskegon County, not government. I am not a politician. I will continue to serve Muskegon with integrity, I will encourage growth and prosperity with conservative mindset to not waste our tax-payer dollars.
